Well, here it is January. And it’s cold. And I’ve haven’t been on my blog since June. Well, I got laid off in June – the bosses idea of telling me is slowly decreasing my hours, then having someone else ask for my keys. So, I went through a little depression and all, and started trying to find a job. I did get help and training from the Maryland Career Center – they were really great! And I found other people around my age having the same problem (no job). Then I answered a Craig’s list job posting, interviewed a couple times and got the job. So I started working in August, and have been there since. And I love the job. Don’t have to ask my boss to go to the bathroom, can work on what needs to be done – my way.
So now, I am starting to get back in the mood for knitting, stitching, quilting and etc., etc., etc.
More later and all
What a great weekend! Yesterday was my birthday. 60 years old now. Ellen took me to Angie’s for a cookout and it was actually a surprise birthday party. The weather was nice, had a cookout, and then swam in the pool. Got a little sun tan, so now my legs don’t look like white sheets.
Then today we went to the Tangle Stitches meeting and had a great time just stitching away.
It was a nice break from the frustration of trying to find a job.
So, now I’m going to watch a little TV, get some sleep, and start fresh on Monday. See you later!
Oh my! It has been awhile since I’ve blog. And now I’m behind (again).
Anyways, when I saw this TAST – all I could think of was “Worms”.
More later – I hope to make another blog tomorrow.
Hey there, everyone.
I really had fun working Stitch 61 – Up and Down Feathered Buttonhole Stitch. Today was a nice, quiet day – had the baseball game on for a little bit – but I turned it off, just in case I jinxed them into losing.
Now I can go back to the lighthouse one and do some more stitching on that.
Good evening. It is Sunday, and I have finally caught up on all the TAST Stitches. This is my sample of Stitch 60 – Diamond Stitch. I like using the variegated threads. These are colors that I bought somewhere in the 80’s. I was trying to make it curve a little, but with practice (and drawing it out on a sheet) I will get it.
Saturday was a great day. I (with Ellen’s help) started a get together for stitchers, knitters, crochetters with a meeting in our local library. Although only two people came and sat with us, a few more stuck their heads in to see what it was all about. Our next meeting is 18 May at 1PM.
Anyways, this is it for this post. More later,
Yea – I finished Stitch 59 Breton Stitch. I just got into the mood and whipped this one out while watching “Numb3rs”. I really like the last picture – I think it looks like a pink tree.
That’s it for now.
Well, yesterday was Easter. I had a pork chop and some green beans. Not the most interesting dinner, but nice. Anyways, I have uploaded my cross stitch projects that I have been working on this past week. I can’t wait to finish the lighthouse one – and the dog one. I got alot of shredding done today, it is amazing just how much paper one can have in six months. Anyways, I do have to work on my TAST – I think I’ll do that on Tuesday and Wednesday. So, that’s it for now.
More later, Mary
