History Lesson: Baltimore’s African American Heritage.

Last Tuesday, February 27, I listened to a lecture by Wayne R. Schaumburg at the Pasadena Senior Center on the above subject.  I wished I had such any interesting History Teacher when I went to school.  Besides talking about the people that I had already heard about., i.e., Frederick Douglass, W.E.B. Du Bois, Cab Calloway, and Thurgood Marshall, he showed us at least 2 dozen other famous people that were either born in Baltimore, and/or lived there during their lives.  He had a handout listing the bibliography he used and the people he talked about.  Also, his website is:  http://www.waynesguidetobaltimore.com

Mr. Schaumburg’s next lecture is on Women in History Month:  The Feminine Touch on Tuesday, March 6.  I’ll be there!  I also signed up for the following lectures:  Protect Your Family’s Future, Emotional Health with Essential Oils, Is Your House in Order?, Backyard Birding, and for $5.00, Chef on the Go:  One Pot Meals.  So I’ll be busy..LOL.

Well, I’m off to start the wash (bummer). and so, see you all later.

Mary
